viera wetlands

We heard of this really cool area called the Viera Wetlands
like 5 minutes away from the house.
I am so glad that we went to check it out,
it was REALLY beautiful and awesome to see :)

Baby gators....so cute :) Where's momma gator though??

Angel brought "eagle eye" Ryan up front with him.

He loved driving the van, now I'm sure he will want

to drive everywhere!!

Jaina kept an eye out from her seat in the back!!

There's a big one...so glad we were in the comfort AND safety

of our van. I do not want another Brazos Bend experience!

One very big reason we do not let the kids out in

the back by themselves. This guy was enormous!!!

Here's a zoomed pic of the BEAST!

Are you ready for some football??

Today was week two of Lil Sports--Football Edition :)
Angel and I switch off every week on who gets to take Ryan.
So Jaina had some daddy time, and I was able to cheer Ryan on at his football class!!
It's so great to spend the one on one time with the kids.

Yes, he did catch the ball...I love this face!!

Notice how he is holding the ball...natural!?!?

I think he is giving the ball a little pep talk

before he kicks it!!

Thanks Coach Reed...mommy and daddy

has become his at home practice tackling mat!!

Spring Training in Florida

One thing that we love about being back in Florida is Spring Training!! Dozens of major league teams call Florida their home in March. Viera is home to the Washington Nationals. Space Coast Stadium is right down the road from our house, so we couldn't resist some professional baseball action. We rounded up our friends bundled up the kiddos, and headed over to the stadium. It was a cool coincidence that the Nationals opponent was the Astros...a little taste of Texas here in the sunshine state!!

This was Jaina's very first baseball experience...she did awesome.
I knew she would, the love of the game is in her blood!

Ryan didn't care much for the noise, of course our seats were

right in front of the loud speakers!!

But a little bit of cotton candy and popcorn and he was fine!

Jaina was a fan of the cotton candy too...who knew kids love SUGAR!

The space shuttle monument outside of the stadium

Anytime Ryan sees a shuttle he says,

"hey mom, remember when we saw the space shuttle blasting off?!"

It must have made quite the impression on the little guy :)

We left just after the 7th inning stretch to beat the traffic.

We ended the night with pj's, hot cocoa and post game fireworks,

we had an awesome view from our backyard :)

Beanbags!!

So we had one cozy chair in the toy room...which of course has been a source of contention!! So we decided to buy the kids a couple of bean bag chairs. As you can see...problem solved, greatest invention ever!!

Jaina 18 months

I took Jaina in for her 18 month appt today. The doctor says she is PERFECT, I couldn't agree more :) As far a %iles go, he described her as long and lean, that is how she has always been!! I don't get the weight part, she eats anything and everything you put in front of her...and most things that you don't she helps herself to as well!! She must be blessed with a high metabolism.
Jaina's 18 month Stats:
Weight 23.13 lbs (30%)
Height 33 1/2 inches (90%)
Head Circ 18.5 inches (61%)
18 months also marks the milestone of going to nursery at church. the first couple of weeks she went in and never looked back, little miss independent. But last week, she cried her little eyes out when I put her down in the class. Who knows??
Lately her favorite things to do are: reading books, watching Yo Gabba Gabba, and playing with anything that big brother has first!!

big Girl Bed

So we aren't quite ready to let Jaina start sleeping in her big girl bed yet, but we put it up in her room so she can get used to it. I think it is safe to say that she loves it.....hopefully that feeling continues when mom and dad get brave enough to let her actually sleep in it!! She's already reaching for door knobs...it's only a matter of time before she figures out how to turn them!! When we do let her out of "baby jail" we might be in trouble!

Lil' Sports

Been looking for a sports program to put Ryan into. Darn the luck, he missed the tee ball age cutoff by 30 days!! So I went in search of something, anything!! So I found this great program called Little Sports. Every month the class focuses on a different sport, basketball, football, soccer, and tee ball. February was basketball, and much to my surprise Ryan is a natural...had no idea he had such raw talent. He seemed to have a lot of fun, guess we had better brush up on the game in case he decides that he wants to do it "for real".
